I began my journey following in my mother's footsteps of a huge heart
My Mom was a professional alcoholism counselor and mother of seven children. She ingrained in me a love for self healing and the beauty of education. Through the years I have had training in energy work such as Jin Shin Jyutsu, Therapeutic Touch and Emotional Release. Eventually I felt the need to learn more in order to help people even further, and became interested in anatomy, physiology and clinical massage techniques.

This led me to study for nearly 1,000 school class hours. As I got past my initial 250 or so basic hours, I became hungry for anatomy based courses that focused on fixing issues, not so much on simply soothing the body in the moment. I emerged from California study a well- trained therapuetic therapist.

Several years work with these powerful tools made me a very effective therapist that was gaining excellent results. But it wasn't until I embraced the ancient Hawaiian art of lomi-lomi that I felt truly fulfilled in my work. The Big Island fix-em-up style I learned was just the right fit. The focus on results, anotomy and phsyiology is all there with lomi-lomi- for which I was grateful- but it acklowledged the heart as well.

I was trained to honor the body in front of me as something truly sacred. Sacred? Yes. It is our carriage we ride through life to live, learn, help and most of all love. Without a body, how can we take our kids to the park, or laugh with a friend. We experience everything because we are here uniquely on this earth, uniquely inside a physical body.

Some days seem to evoke a need for deep work with lots of active range of motion bodywork, while others call for a quieter more balancing type approach to the work. I seek to find just the right balance to make my clients feel as if they are floating out the door. If I can succeed in that, balance can be regained in the body.
